Istron lies twelve kilometres east of Agios Nikolaos and twenty-two kilometres north of Ierapetra, very close to Kalo Chorio. It is a quite village situated in a valley covered with olive groves and a lot of springs which has been tourist developed as well.
The main growth driver of Istron is the unboubtedly the emerald shores of which are scattered in three consecutive bays, but also its easy access via the highway north of Crete.
The most popular beaches on these perfecture are Karavostasi which is a solitary beach, Agios Panteleimonas beach and Voulisma.
