Kallithea is located 7 kilometres from Rhodes town center. The municipality of Kallithea streches along Faliraki beach and includes villages of Koskinou, Kalithies and Psinthos. In the ancient times the region belonged to the city-state of Ialysos, and was a wealthy area, as the many remains from the wider region of Kalthies testify (Erimokastro, Sarantapihos Acropolis). The numerous and post-Byzantine churches, many decorated with frescoes, are also well worth visiting.
